Hazardous Material Training
The following information of hazardous materials training is the guideline for our course. However, OSTS will address the following issues in a site specific manner o ensure applicability of information. Our instructors not only cover the required elements, but use Tabletop and Practical exercises to further enhance the value of the class.
Hazardous Material Supervisory Training Eight (8) Hours
The overall objective of this course is to provide training and certification to individuals who act in a supervisory role at controlled sites as defined under 29 CFR 1910.120(e).
On-site managers and supervisors directly responsible for, or who supervise employees engaged in, hazardous waste operations shall receive specialized training prior to performing activities as an on-site supervisor. This course emphasizes health and safety planning and coordination, site management, and regulatory compliance issues. Other topics include: risk communication, employee training, personal protective equipment programs, job site surveillance, respiratory protection programs, medical surveillance programs, emergency response programs, record-keeping and liability issues.
The prerequisite to this course is the 40-hour and must be scheduled after the 40 hour.
All training is performed in accordance with Federal OSHA, applicable State-chartered OSHA, and other State Regulations and local Ordinances.
